Craft Room Tour
We recently finished our office/craft room/library/guest room/studio enough to be functional. I am so excited I can’t even tell you!
Prior to having this room finished, my craft life looked like a creepy unfinished basement piled with supplies. Any project supplies needed had to be trekked up the stairs and set up, used for a short time, and then piled back up on the kitchen table. And then these supplies usually needed put away and taken back out again several times before it was complete.
Obviously this isn’t the most efficient way to make.
But, us makers make do.
We also improvise.
I’ve spent much more of the past few years working on portable projects like knitting, embroidery, and hand sewing.
And while I love all of these things, I am equally in love with the idea of working on a longer term project without having to spend half of my available time moving, setting up, and tearing down.
Now, while this room is functional, it’s definitely not finished.
There are still quite a few projects to complete, including built in library shelves, two closets, a bathroom, and a wall mounted tv.
And of course there are aesthetic changes to be made like folding tables swapped out for real desks, usable and beautiful storage, etc.
So keep in mind it isn’t anywhere near done, but it’s so much more than I could have hoped.
