All in Life

My Top 10 Ways to Inspire Creativity

For many of us, our creative juices seem to kind of ebb and flow with the seasons of our lives.

Sometimes overflowing and demanding to be heard, and other times floating shallow and calm, only whispering if we stop and really listen.

There have also been periods of my life where I stopped listening all together, busying myself with all the other details of life.

Crazy Easy Smock from a T-Shirt

This crazy easy toddler smock has become a staple in our house. We use them for eating, crafting, and cooking with our two little girls. And because they are so quick and easy to make, we are never without protection for our girls’ sweet wardrobes.

Erin Condren Planner Unboxing & Review

I’ve always been a planner and list maker. I remember having an old day planner when I was in middle school and feeling so grown up and responsible with it. And of course having nothing to schedule in, ha! How things have changed! Now, even though my plans almost never go as written, it’s a huge load off my mind just to write things out and see them on paper, rather than a big frantic jumble stuck in my head.

Episode 1 - You Make, You Learn

This weeks debut episode discusses the projects I’ve been working on this month.

Which includes my Baubles Shawl by Andrea Mowry and knit with yarn from Old Soul Fiber Co and Yarn Experiments.

And my Hermione’s Everyday Socks knit with Nomadic Yarns.

And the one knee high sock from Purl Soho that I knit for about 3 years, and of course doesn’t fit! I knit this in Purl Bee yarn.

I also chat a bit about hand quilting, my new Erin Condren planner, Project Life catch up, and plans for the blog and podcast going forward, including a few upcoming posts to look forward to.

So, if you have 30 minutes while you’re cooking, or knitting, or cleaning the house, have a listen and chat with me below!

2019 Make Nine and Craft Goals

January means it’s time to set all of our intentions and goals for the year ahead.

Even if it is the last week of January!

I made a quick video running through all of my 2019 make nine knitting projects (you can watch it at the bottom of the post!).

If you don’t know, #makenine is an Instagram challenge where you create a 9up photo grid of the 9 knitting patterns you hope to make in the following year.

I’ve also seen them for sewing projects, especially garments, or for crafty goals in general.

2018 Make Review

With the end of the year closely approaching as I write this, it’s time to take a look back at my year of crafting.

I had some great successes!

And also, didn’t even start most of my goal projects.

Ha!

What can ya do?

Hello Again

You may or may not have noticed that this page and the blog have been pretty quiet for a few months (or 9), and there wasn’t any kind of announcement or goodbye.

As happens in life, we had a few months full of “hiccups”.

And as hiccups usually do, they just kept coming, now matter how much we wished they would stop.

And now I feel refreshed, reenergized, and excited to get back to it.

So all of this is to say, hello again old friend! I’m so happy to see you again.

A year of Bullet Journaling

love the fresh start that comes with the new year. All the opportunity for change, organization, and new plans.

And for the same reasons, I’ve always loved planners.

It might just be because they help me feel like I’m getting my life together, even if that’s not actually the case.

but I feel like it’s more than that.

2018 Craft Goals

I always enjoy setting craft and project goals for myself at the beginning of the year.

Often times, my interests, focus, and follow through tends to evolve throughout the year, but I still enjoy it!

Even if I don’t complete all my goals, it’s fun to see where I started the year at, and where I end up.

My Word for 2018

In the past, I’ve tried writing out and following through on New Years Resolutions more times than I could count. And probably just as many times, I’ve started the new year without any clear cut or defined goals because I didn’t take the time to sit down and put pen to paper.

October Favorites

It's that time of the month again! Time for me to share all of the things I've been loving this October.

It's been a busy month around here, including sickness of littles, some serious deep cleaning and purging of our kitchen (much needed, but so relieving), and finally finding a new, non-family nanny for the girls!

But all of that aside, I did find a chance to enjoy and indulge in some products, content, and media just to share with you all!

Evelyn's Triangle Quilt

I finally did it, I finally made my first quilt, start to finish!

I might have been a little in over my head starting my second quilt top (I have an unfinished hand quilting piece floating around out there) with a triangle piece pattern.

And yes, I might have rushed some parts of this process.

But I still love it, and so does Evelyn, so I think we'll be ok.

But I sure did learn a lot!

September Favorites

Where did September go, seriously?

This month flew by, and as I’m sure you noticed, I was pretty absent here.

Something about the change into fall always seems so busy to me!

Here are all the things I’ve been absolutely loving this month!

August Favorites

Oh my gosh, can you believe it's been another month already?

Didn't the summer just start?

We sure were running like crazy this month, enjoying family and finishing up a lot of our summer projects (mostly large house projects).

With all of the running around and family time, I haven't had as much of a chance to work on crafty projects or enjoy reading and guilty tv time, but here is everything I did get a chance to enjoy in August.
