Easy and beautiful DIY plant watering guides

We have a wide variety of houseplants in our home, with varying levels of water and care needs.

I have a bit of a problem.

I have a hard time passing a selection of plants, without buying any.

And then I have an even harder time keeping up with their needs consistently.

Not to mention individually.

I tend to assume they all need watered at the same time.

What can I say, I’m not perfect!

Last Minute Valentine’s Day Sign

Last week I said wreaths were one of my favorite DIY decor items. And I wasn’t lying. But another equally favorite item is a simple painted sign.

You can paint just about anything you can think of on a wooden sign, and I never get tired of incorporating them into holiday and every day decor.

DIY Floral Valentine's Day Wreath

I’ve never been big on decorating for the smaller holidays, but growing up my mom always did.

She made sure to make every holiday we celebrated special for us with decor, treats, and small gifts.

Those memories are some of my favorites and I remember how excited and special I felt on each of those days.

I really want that for our girls, so I’m making more of an effort to use every excuse to celebrate.

Hello Again

You may or may not have noticed that this page and the blog have been pretty quiet for a few months (or 9), and there wasn’t any kind of announcement or goodbye.

As happens in life, we had a few months full of “hiccups”.

And as hiccups usually do, they just kept coming, now matter how much we wished they would stop.

And now I feel refreshed, reenergized, and excited to get back to it.

So all of this is to say, hello again old friend! I’m so happy to see you again.

DIY HELLO fence sign

Living in a state that only has true summer weather for about 3-4 months out of the year, we love to soak it up as much as possible.

Our favorite way is through outdoor living at home.

With two littles running around though (well, one running and one rolling) it's harder for us to spend long stretches of time out in the heat and sun.

We try not to let that stop us in preparing both our front porch, and our back yard for future summers spent out there.

I've almost got the front porch all decorated and set up just as I'd like, although it could still use a few small details.

While this project isn't necessarily "small" I still thought it'd be a fun one to make, and would help brighten up our front porch.

Harry Potter Inspired Toddler Room

I thought this week I would show you guys around Evelyn's Harry Potter inspired bedroom.

When we first found out we were pregnant with Evelyn, we decided we would pick a themed room, because Kyle and I are both big media nerds, and none of the rest of our house really showcases this.

We pretty quickly agreed that if we were having a boy, we would do a Star Wars room, and for a girl, it'd be Harry Potter.

Well, guess what!

I won that one.

DIY Toddler Coat Rack

I'm just doing a quick post today to show off Evelyn's new toddler coat rack.

This girl knows that when the weather is chilly, she can't go outside without a jacket.

And the girl loves to go outside!

So, I thought it'd be fun to make a cute little coat rack to hang her seasonal jackets and sweaters on.

DIY Headband and Hair Bow Holder

Ok ladies, raise your hand if you have a bit of a hair accessories problem.

*raises both hands*

Having two small girls at home, I'd say a "bit" of a problem is an understatement.

So, rather than reigning that shopping habit in, why not beautifully organize and display all those goodies in one go?

DIY String Art Tutorial

I'm sure that if you have ever been on Pinterest, you've seen some version of string art. So with Father's Day coming up, what better reason to make another one, and feature it here to show you all how I did it (and for me to make all the mistakes, so you don't have to!).
